但此时其妻惠秀罹癌遍访名医药石罔效，今年有幸拜见大师皈依门下，七月七日因妻虚弱不克远行，他自西雅图飞洛杉矶求见法王上师义云高，代妻求法但求解脱往生净土，原不合法度，幸师慈悲观照知妻可修往升大法，师佛务繁忙不克北上，因而破例传法于他，由他代传其妻弥陀大法念佛法门精髓及往升秘密手印，并告知此手印结上后，如果套了种子字，不可随便念南无阿弥陀佛，因为一当念诵，可能佛菩萨会马上现前接你，除非决定往升极乐方可念诵。妻得法后，以癌末之身一天四五次修法极为精勤。Source: 义云高
